My name is Dr Brett Factor. I provide Specialist Coaching for radiology registrars who are preparing for RANZCR specialist exams. RANZCR exam preparation requires thorough knowledge of the vast curriculum. But there are several other aspects of exam preparation that I can assist you with, to maximise your chances of passing the written and clinical RANZCR exams. I take a holistic and new approach that is easy to implement and gets results.
Stress and anxiety
Many radiology trainees experience stress and anxiety during college exams. Overwhelming anxiety can significantly impair even the best prepared exam candidates. I guide doctors through tailored stress management techniques that are quick to implement and suitable for the high pressure, time limited RANZCR exams. You can manage your exam anxiety with these effective and easy to implement techniques.
Consultant level performance
It can be hard to demonstrate consultant level performance in written responses and in clinical exams. You might find yourself trying to find the answer you think the examiner wants to hear. Or maybe the artificial nature of RANZCR exams might make it difficult for you to demonstrate your consultant level daily clinical practice.
Improving your exam performance is an important aspect of RANZCR exam preparation. I use creative visualisation techniques to help doctors demonstrate realistic consultant level performance in a convincing way.
Family and friends
RANZCR exam preparation can put a wedge between doctors and their loved ones. The commitment can often take away from time spent with family. Radiology trainees often enter into a challenging headspace that prevents them from doing many of the things that once brought them joy. There are a few factors at play here and I explore these in more detail here.
I believe that reconnecting with family can actually improve relationships and the effectiveness of study and exam preparation. As I have said before, you don’t have to put your life on hold to prepare for RANZCR exams. Some sort of semblance of life-normality can enhance mental health, which can greatly improve your ability to prepare and perform effectively.
